True Treasures in Stone and Ink

This exhibition features original rubbings made from the most outstanding selections of stele inscription collected in Xi’an Beilin Museum, China, including the Kaicheng Stone Classics and the masterworks of Wang Xizhi and Yan Zhenqing. Come and explore the evolution of Chinese writing and the wisdom in the Confucian tradition encoded in stone and ink.

Mind-Transforming Treasures

Nearly 200 Buddhist artifacts are in the permanent exhibition. They consist of three main types of sculpture: stone, gilt bronze and wood. These pieces range over a thousand years, from the Gandhara period in India (ca.1st-5th century) to the Yuan and Ming periods (1271-1644) in China.
